Learn bookkeeping by doing the job.
A full charge bookkeeper training simulation. Not a video course.
You're hired as the only bookkeeper at a Michigan food truck and catering company. Invoices, receipts, payroll hours, and Toast reports land in your inbox. At month end, you close the books.
Twelve months, four quarters, one set of books that carries forward — built by a working bookkeeper, graded like a real job would grade you.
How it works
Emails arrive
Invoices, receipts, payroll hours, and Toast reports show up in your inbox throughout the month.
You record it
Enter each transaction in QuickBooks Online — now available free — or any tool you choose.
Match the bank
The bank statement shows up, and you match every line to what you recorded.
Close and check
You close the books and check your work with instant grading.
Find your starting point
Everyone ends up in the same 12-month full charge bookkeeper simulation. Where you start depends on what you already know.
Placement test
Covers the basics: recording transactions, reconciling a bank statement, reading a chart of accounts. Score 80% or better and you skip straight to Quarter 1 of the main course.
Foundations (if needed)
Three months of cash-basis bookkeeping for a simulated laundromat, self-paced, any software or by hand. Finish it and you unlock the full course automatically — no retest required.
The full course
Accrual-basis bookkeeping for the food truck and catering business, one quarter at a time, in QuickBooks Online. Each quarter builds on the last, so your books — and your skills — carry forward.
Certificate & transcript
Finish all four quarters and you get a certificate plus a skills transcript that breaks down what you demonstrated, quarter by quarter.
Membership (coming soon)
Graduates can stay on for ongoing access to new courses and trainings as they're released.

What a full charge bookkeeper training course covers
Twelve months of accrual-basis bookkeeping, taken one quarter at a time, for one continuous set of books.
Set up the books and file your first Returns
Build a chart of accounts from scratch, correct an opening balance on a truck loan, and file your first Michigan sales tax and withholding returns. You'll also track inventory and cost of goods sold for the first time.
Handle the transactions video courses never show you
Record depreciation, prepaid expenses, and accrued wages — the adjusting entries that separate a real bookkeeper from someone who just logs receipts.
Manage revenue that doesn't arrive on a clean schedule
Work through catering deposits and unearned revenue, apply revenue recognition to a service business, and collect W-9s the way you would from a real vendor.
Close out a full year, the way a client actually needs it closed
Review fixed assets and inventory, prep 1099s, and run a full year-end close: W-2s, 1099-NECs, Form 941, Form 940, and the Michigan annual reconciliation. This is also your portfolio quarter.
We recommend the free version of QuickBooks Online for every quarter — but any tool works.
One path, priced two ways
Start free. When you're ready for the full course, pay one quarter at a time or save by paying for the year — either way, your books carry forward, so there's no repeated setup between quarters.
Foundations is free, always — no card, no time limit.
FAQ
What comes after Quarter 4
Finishing the full course doesn't have to be the end. Two things are coming:
Membership
Graduates will be able to stay on for ongoing access to new courses and trainings as they're released — no need to start from scratch on a new platform every time you want to build a new skill.
AP/AR specialist courses
Focused, shorter simulations in accounts payable and accounts receivable — for bookkeepers who want to go deep on collections, vendor management, and cash flow without redoing the full 12-month program.
